Her passion for music has been influenced by a musical family, most particularly by our grandmother, who is herself a very good singer. She was the first one to teach my aunt how to play the guitar. At age eleven, Tita got a wonderful surprise from our grandparents and that was a blue guitar - her very first. Tita has been singing since she was around six years old. She had performed young at her school and also in different school literary program competitions. The writing of poems also took place around the early part of her elementary years.
Life's trials have made her search for that special meaning which had led her to the Lord Almighty. Her life with the Lord brought more joy and contentment. Her songs and poems reflect mostly of God’s love, mercy and grace. She has supported ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) and Gawad Kalinga Projects for several years by doing concerts to raise money to build homes for the homeless in the Philippines. She continues to support IFOPA (International Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva Association) in their search tro find the cure for those with FOP. She has helped others in their evangelization in Africa by doing concerts as well to raise funds for those who are going there. All of these, she said, are for the glory of God.
Every day is littered with many opportunities to commune with God, according to Tita. She says, that when such an opportunity comes that one needs to capture it and set it in their heart and never let it pass by ---- these opportunities are moments of healing, mending, comforting, joy and love. "God", she says, "is the very Way to everything! There's nowhere else to go."
As a self-published author, my aunt has written 13 books, the latest one is called, "Praises, Prayers and Psalms (or songs she composed to give glory to the Lord.) .
Tita is a devoted mother to her three beautiful children: Marirosanne, Carrbien and Damon II. Tita's hobbies include singing to the Lord Almighty everyday. She loves the moments of joy and serenity whenever she sings to the Father!
